Water Filtration

Water filtration Cape Cod well water needs — lab testing, iron filters, acid neutralizers, whole-house systems, and under-sink filtration.

Water filtration Cape Cod — under-sink filtration system

A huge share of Cape Cod homes run on private wells, and the Cape’s sandy aquifer delivers water with its own personality: iron that stains fixtures orange, manganese that turns laundry gray, acidity that eats copper pipes from the inside, and in some areas, PFAS and nitrates that you can’t see or taste at all. We start with a proper water test — not a free ‘test’ designed to sell you equipment, but a lab analysis that tells you exactly what’s in your water. Then we design treatment that matches reality: acid neutralizers, iron filters, water softeners, carbon filtration, UV disinfection, or reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink. We install what your water actually needs, service every system we sell annually, and repair existing systems other companies installed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what’s in my well water?

A certified lab test — we collect samples and send them to a Massachusetts-certified laboratory, then walk you through the results. Testing every 2-3 years is recommended for private wells; immediately if you notice staining, smells, or taste changes.

What are the blue-green stains in my sink and tub?

That’s copper — your water is acidic (low pH) and it’s literally dissolving your copper pipes from the inside. Left untreated it causes pinhole leaks throughout the house. An acid neutralizer fixes the water; we also check how much pipe damage has already happened.

Should I be worried about PFAS on Cape Cod?

Several Cape Cod towns have detected PFAS in groundwater. If you’re on a private well, a lab test tells you your actual levels. If treatment is needed, carbon filtration and reverse osmosis are both proven to remove PFAS — we’ll size the right approach for your results.

What’s the difference between whole-house filtration and under-sink systems?

Whole-house systems treat every drop entering the home — right for staining, odor, acidity, and hardness problems. Under-sink reverse osmosis polishes drinking and cooking water to the highest purity. Many Cape homes benefit from both, but we only recommend what your water test justifies.

How often do filtration systems need service?

Most systems need annual service: media inspection, filter changes, and a quick water retest to confirm the treatment is still doing its job. We service systems we installed and systems other companies installed — no judgment, just maintenance.
